OPI: Fly

Last year OPI did a collaboration with Nicki Minaj. I was able to pick up of 5 of the 6 polishes in the collection. Sadly, I was unable to get my hands on Pink Friday. Well, I still have not acquired Pink Friday but I will be showing you Fly. Fly is bright sky blue/teal creme. My camera could not pick up its true color but it is beautiful. It also had a nice buttery formula with no application issues. I only needed 2 coats for opacity and it dried with a nice shine.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Pure Ice:Five-Some

Hi guys. Is everyone doing well? I hope so. My little princess is sick and had me up all night cleaning vomit and washing bedding and running her to the bathroom. Poor baby, now that I am to the point of near delirium from lack of sleep, she is finally sleeping peacefully next to me as I write up this post. Today I have a Pure Ice polish to show you called Five-Some. It is a black base packed with mainly pink, blue & yellow microglitter. It's very reminiscant of butterLondon The Black Knight. The formula was very thick and wanted to get gloopy. With 3 careful coats, I was able to get smooth coverage.

Revlon: Whimsical

Holy Cranky!!! It's COLD.
How is everyone today? I hope all are well and keeping warm, at least those of you living in the colder regions. I'm here with a space heater at my desk roasting the left side of my face. Today I have a polish that I was lemming for a long time. It's Whimsical, a milky blue "crelly" base with a mix of blue, baby blue, pink & fuschia (I think) glitters. Everytime I encountered a Revlon display of course it was NOT there! So when I walked in to Rite Aid and saw it I immediately grabbed it. And even better, it was 75% off. What a steal. The nail polish gods were looking after me.
Well, after I slapped on 4 coats of Whimsical, I was left disappointed and underwhelmed. It is not what I thought it would be. It has an almost dinghy look to it, if you know what I mean. Maybe I need to layer it over a brighter blue. The formula was ok. I didn't have any issues other than its sheerness ( is that a word?) Well, here you go.

OPI: San Tan-Tonio

Hey guys! I am so dragging today...so freakin tired but I'm here at work trekking along. Someone should seriously invent a caffeine IV drip. LOL. With that said, here is a very short post.
OPI San-Tan-Tonio is a warm sable creme. I had no issues with application. This dried very shiny. I used 2 coats without topcoat.

Have a beautiful Monday everyone.

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer: Blue Screen of Death

Hello beautiful followers of mine! Today I have a blue beauty from Pomegranate Lacquers called Blue Screen of Death to show you. It's a cobalt blue with a deep, rich shimmer. I got this about a week or so ago along with Midnight Satellite but I was working a project and I was unable to try this until now. Its actually my first manicure in 2 weeks and my NOTD! I know a lot of you have seen it before but I HAD to post about this because once I started to paint my nails with this, I developed an immediate high school crush on it...seriously! I keep catching myself staring at mt hands and I think I even hear some Lionel Ritchie playing off in the distance. Hahaha...I know I'm such a dork. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it at work though :)
The formula is amazing. I really just held the brush and the polish did the rest. Carefully enough, this could be a one coater for me. This is 2 coats with topcoat.

Pomegranate Nail Lacquer is currently having a huge sale with up to 50% off all her stock to make room for her upcoming release of The Royal Fairy Tale collection coming out Feb 2013. I just order 2 more!!!
Have a wonderful, beautiful and fun weekend everyone!!!!

What I found in the $1 Bin at Target

My sister in I were in Target a while back doing some Christmas shopping and I stumbled upon this as we walked in the store.

It has no name or brand...as you can see it simply says NAIL POLISH on its label (how original...)
My sister was aghast that I would even consider looking at them but I saw this beautiful teal/green metallic. I had to give it a try. I mean, come on it's only $1. The formula was a bit sheer at first but it built up nicely without any issues. I was pleasantly surprised.  The color is a bit more teal IRL. This is 4 coats with topcoat.

OPI Walks Red Carpet with Claire Danes at Golden Globe Awards

Actress Claire Danes walked the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards red carpet wearing sheer pink OPI nail lacquer in Passion to complement her bold red Versace dress. Danes won Best Actress in a Drama Series at last night’s award ceremony, and the show in which she stars – Homeland – was also given top honors as Best Drama Series.

Model and actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley joined presenter Jason Statham on the red carpet, also wearing the soft hue Passion.

“Both Claire and Rosie wore bold dresses – Claire in rich red and Rosie in dramatic black – and the sheer pink, ultra-feminine lacquer shade Passion gave their nails a classic, polished look,” said OPI celebrity manicurist Beth Fricke.

Julep January "It Girl" Box

Hi! Is everyone having a good weekend? I've been working on a project so my post is super late. I apologize. I have been geiing my Julep boxes for a few months now and I have never posted about them so I decided to show you the polishes I got in my January box. Here we have Julep Amelia, Nikki & Nina.

Amelia
3 coats with topcoat

Amelia is a sheer champagne color with a pearly finish. With 3 coats I was still able to see VNL. The formula was good. I had no issues with running, pooling or bubbles. It's a nice neutral/nude for work.

Nikki
3 coats with topcoat

Nikki is a sunny yellow color. In the bottle it looks more like a highlighter yellow but it's much more toned down and warm on the nail. I wore 3 coats without undies and 1 coat of topcoat. This dried to a rubbery looking finish without the topcoat. The formula on this one was a little thicker than Amelia but not really hard to work with.

Nina
3 coats with topcoat

Nina is a beautiful spring time orange creme. I used 3 coats with topcoat and no undies. The formula and finish was the same as Nikki.

I really did enjoy these colors but was a little surprised to find them in January's box. I needed some warmth after dealing with December and I got that with my "It Girl" box.

MmmmNails: I Love Boyz

Hey! Today I have another MmmmNails polish to show you. I originally was going to post the polishes I got from my January Julep It Girl box BUT blogger is a dork and I can't get to my pics sooo...here is I Love Boyz. I really love how this polish looks over this purple base. I thinks it Finger Paints Gumball Grape or something like that. The formula on this one was amazing as was the glitter payoff. Can you see the square glitter!!! *SQUEEEEE*** I love square glitter for some reason. This one has blue hex and sqaure glitter as well as white square and small holographic bits of glitter too, all in a clear base.

1 coat of topcoat
