E.L.F. Dark Navy

Good day everyone! Thank God this week is almost over. My almost 3 year old started school on Monday and she fights me every morning not to go! I hope  it gets better. I'm tired, lol.
Today I am wearing an E.L.F polish called  Dark Navy. It is well...dark navy blue with a blue shimmer that likes to hide in most lighting.

This is one if those so dark polishes that looks black a lot of the time.  I got this in a 4 pack at Burlington Coat Factory about a year ago for $4.99.
The formula was a but thick for my liking but is so opaque it could have easily been a one coater with a more careful application. I applied my first coat then added some thinner to the bottle for my second coat then topped it off with NYC quick dry top coat.

I'm not entirely sure I like this color. Maybe if the shimmer popped a little more so it didn't just look black.

China Glaze Holographics Not In This Galaxy

Oh boy have I been sick! Ugh since Saturday I've had this horrible cough that makes me sound like a seal with all the yucky phlegm coming up. TMI? Sorry folks...
Well Saturday we ended up going to a fair even though I didn't feel well I had a pretty good time. My nails looked fabulous too what with all the sun we were blessed with that day. I had China Glaze Not In This Galaxy on, a rosy pink holo.

The holo is not very strong but it still came out to play under my desk lamp. I wish I took pics of this on Saturday when the sun was out.

The formula was not the greatest but it was easier than I thought it would be to manage considering what I've read on the blogosphere about these holos by China Glaze. I did use Poshe basecoat for peeling nails and let it dry completely before applying my first coat. It did want to drag but I used a light hand and let it dry completely again before adding my second and third which went on without any issues.

This polish dried amazingly fast which was awesome since I did my nails right before bed. I did not use topcoat.

Pure Ice Vintage Glam

Today I have a quickie post of a mani I wore a couple weeks ago. It's called Vintage Glam by Pure Ice.

I don't remember when I bought this polish but I think it's part of last years fall release. Vintage Glam is a mustard yellow. IRL it leans a bit more green than the picture shows. The formula was ok for a yellow polish. Slightly streaky but very opaque. I think I used 3 coats with top coat.

Well I gotta go get ready for work soon. Ciao lacqueristas :)

Did you miss me?

Hello again! I have finally decided to get the Blogger app for my iPhone since I decided it will be much easier for me to blog on the go. I know my pics won't be as great but I miss my blog so so so so much and I feel like I need to get back to it. Even though I haven't been blogging myself, I have still been keeping up with all the blogs I follow.

I have a mani today that I did after seeing it on ChitChatNails. I absolutely adore Marta's nail art. This one I thought my artistically challenged self might be able to pull off. I don't remember what Marta called it so I'm just gonna call it Sponged Glitter Gradient tips.

For the natural nail look I used 2 coats of LA Colors American Manicure. I then ripped a piece off of a cosmetic sponge and dabbed OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips, a pink creme on my tips. For the glitter I used Pure Ice Twinkle. I just started from the tip of my nail and painted upwards.

Though its not as beautiful as Marta's manicures, I'm quite happy with how this turned out.
