Did you miss me?

Hello again! I have finally decided to get the Blogger app for my iPhone since I decided it will be much easier for me to blog on the go. I know my pics won't be as great but I miss my blog so so so so much and I feel like I need to get back to it. Even though I haven't been blogging myself, I have still been keeping up with all the blogs I follow.

I have a mani today that I did after seeing it on ChitChatNails. I absolutely adore Marta's nail art. This one I thought my artistically challenged self might be able to pull off. I don't remember what Marta called it so I'm just gonna call it Sponged Glitter Gradient tips.

For the natural nail look I used 2 coats of LA Colors American Manicure. I then ripped a piece off of a cosmetic sponge and dabbed OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips, a pink creme on my tips. For the glitter I used Pure Ice Twinkle. I just started from the tip of my nail and painted upwards.

Though its not as beautiful as Marta's manicures, I'm quite happy with how this turned out.

Mmmm Nails I Love Cake

I want to start off this post by asking you guys to pray for a family member of mine. On Monday night she lost her home and everything she owned to a fire. That has to be be one of the most devastating things to happen to anyone. Thankfully she made it out ok and her baby was not home at the time.

On to nail polish...today I have another Mmmm Nails polish to show you. It has got to be one of my most favorite glitter toppers ever. I Love Cake is a mixture of medium sized blue and yellow hex glitter, blue and yellow shard glitter, blue bar glitter and very small yellow glitter that almost passes as shimmer. I really like this one since it's not a glitter bomb you can layer it over whatever you want. I used 2 "coats" over LA Colors Lightening which is a very hot pink jelly. It photographed more orangey since my camera does not get along with neons. Do you like?

Looking at this mani makes me crave something sweet...like CAKE :)

You can find Mmmm Nails on etsy for $6.99

**This product was sent to me for an honest review.

LA Colors: Current

A Nor'easter...Really, Mother Nature?!!! I think we need a little break here on the east coast. We got 10 inches of snowyesterday & last night. Yuck! I hate the snow, yet I live in New England...go figure.
Today I have a lime green for you...not very fall like, I know. But I like it so here it is. LA Colors Current is from the Color Craze collection. Its a frosty metallic lime green. I usually don't get along with frosty finishes but this one kind of grew on me. It used 3 coats and top coat. The formula was good & I didn't have any issues with brushstrokes.

Please excuse the coloring of my hands and my dry cuticles. I had to adjust the photos to get them more color accurate.

How Splendid!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend. I did some much needed house cleaning and had my parents and some family & friends over for dinner yesterday to celebrate Fathers' Day. I must say I have become somewhat of a grill master (meaning I didnt burn the food too bad. LOL.
Today I have for you another one on the LA Colors I got last weekend and I am loving it. Its called Splendid and its a beautiful shimmery purple. The silver shimmer in this really pops in the sun. I used 3 coats since it started out pretty sheer. Isn't it gorgeous?

LA Colors Shock

Today is so sunny and nice out and I'm feeling like crap. I have this horrible migraine and am a little sleep deprived so bear with me. I have for you LA Colors Shock. Its a neon orange from their color craze collection. Boy is this a jelly. It was so sheer I used four coats and still had major VNL (visual nail line). Was I shocked? Yes but not in a good way. I looked at my nails and was like EWWWWW. I must admit I do like to color but next time I think I will layer it over white or a nude underwear.

4 coats of Shock with topcoat

I was tired of looking at my hands and looking at VNL so I threw some LA Colors Sassy Sparkle on top. Its not as bad now. Sassy Sparkle adds an almost golden shimmer on top of the orange.

4 coats of Shock, 1 coat of Sassy Sparkle and topcoat

Please excuse the crappy photo quality. I haven't gottn a new camera yet.

Finally Some Sun

Yay! I see the sun!

After 3 or 4 days of clouds and rain I needed a little sunshine to cheer me up. Since nothing makes a woman happier than shopping, I made a little trip to Family Dollar. Talk about rolling big time huh. lol. They have a nice display of the LA Colors to I grabbed a few along with some more cotton pads. It seems like I never have enough. I do need to get to Sallys soon so I can use my 15% off coupon. So this is my little haul from FD. I can't wait to try some of these out.
