butterLONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 Lacquer Collection

OPI Launches Fall Collection: Press Release

Edgy Elegance

OPI Launches the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012

OPI embraces runway trends with the Germany Collection for Fall/Winter 2012. Drawing inspiration from Berlin, an exciting new fashion hub that blends classic looks with the avant-garde, the collection’s twelve shades offer a mixture of vibrant color, urban-chic neutrals, and reds in variations from light to dark.
“Designers showcased rich colors and striking textures for fall,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “The Germany Collection beautifully complements these looks, with standout shades in various hues of red and burgundy – the season’s ‘new black.’ Sapphire, black olive and lime yellow are married with creamy neutrals in honey, taupe and nude rose.”
“The overall feel of the Germany Collection is elegance with an edge,” adds Suzi. “The varied palette of colors adds another accent to the list of special touches – think beadwork, paneling, fur and embroidery – that walked the runways during New York Fashion Week. Wearing these shades on fingers and toes is a great way to accessorize a range of looks for the season.”
Germany by OPI includes the following shades:

Don’t Pretzel My Buttons
A haute honey-beige that can always make you smile.
My Very First Knockwurst
…and what a magical rosy-nude rendezvous it was!
Berlin There Done That
A traveling taupe that’s seen it all. (Yep, that too).

There’s nothing mellow about this sassy lime-yellow!

The most beautiful bright purple of all.
Deutsch You Want Me Baby?

China Glaze For Audrey

Happy Tuesday my lovely blog readers. What a gorgeous day it turned out to be. I just got home from having a picnic with my love and our little munchkin at the park. Now its time to kick back with my kindle and enjoy the AC. After this post that is. The most awesome tiffany blue polish I own, China Glaze For Audrey was love at first sight...sigh. The first time I saw a swatch of this beauty I knew I had to have her. The first brush stroke confirmed my belief that she was made for me :) I know most of you have seen her many times before but she is a beauty not to be kept away. Check her out...

I used 2 coats with one coat of Seche Vite.

WnW FusciaRama

Today I have a quick post for you guys.
First I want to say that my heart and prayers go out to those involved in the terrible tragedy at the premier of the new Batman movie in Colorado on Thursday night. I am sick over it.

I just have a quick mani today to show you. It's FusciaRama by Wet & Wild. Not much to say about it though it is a nice raspberry jelly/creme...crelly?

This polish did bubble on me but I may have been a little heavy handed on the coats. This is 3 coats with topcoat.

Angel Dreamz

Hey guys! Did everyone have a good weekend? Mine was ok. I didn't do much but I think it's better than coming back to work tired from a busy weekend. I got my Transdesign order in last week and I wanted to try out one of the polishes I got so I grabbed New York Weekend Angel Dreams which is a pastel pink and blue hex glitter suspended and a clear base filled with fine silver microglitter. The hex glitter had a holographic quality to it in the correct lighting. The polish itself would never be opaque so I decided to layer it over OPI Skull & Glossbones. The hex glitter was a serious PITA trying to get out the bottle onto my finger tips. I did 2 coats with some dabbing and was able to get minimal coverage. After that I sort of gave up but I did like the outcome.

All the glitter kept sinking to the bottom of the bottle. I had to keep capping and shaking to spread it out.

OPI Pompeii Purple

Today I have to show you one of my favorites if not THE favorite of all the polish I have. Its OPI Pompeii Purple. She is a beauty. More a pink than a true purple, this hot pink has this deep purple shimmer that makes it look like she's glowing from within. I always get so many compliments when I wear this polish. The formula is also beautiful on this one. I really have never had any problems with OPI polishes. OPI is  the brand that started it all for me. They dry relatively fast and usually don't even need a top coat (though I always use one anyways) and they always seem to have great collections...except for the NY Ballet one...total disappointment for me. It was just way too bland. So not the case with ompeii Purple. What do you think? A winner in my book.

2 coats of Pompeii Purple with 1 coat of OPI topcoat and 1 coat of Sally Hansen InstaDri

Can you see it glowing?

Finger Paints: Warhol Wannabe

Last night I couldnt figure out what color I wanted to paint my nails so I just closed my eyes and picked up a polish from my untrieds. Out came Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe. I have no idea what the name means but it's a hot pink creme. I don't really know what to say. I hated putting this one on. The formula was so thick and hard to work with, it was like trying to paint my nails with glue. Not only was it thick, it was streaky and dragged and was a total mess. When I was finally done painting my nails, I hated to color. OhmyGosh!!!! Did I just say I hated a polish?! Yes! I did. The color does something with my skintone and makes my fingers look...I don't know, dirty or something.

I used 3 coats with topcoat.

Finger Paints are available only at Sally's Beauty Supply. I think they're $4.99

Cool Giveaway

Nailed: A Nail Polish Blog is having a cool giveaway. You should check it out here http://www.nailedblog.com/2012/07/325-follower-giveaway.html

Forecast: Heatwave!!!!

Its been HOT HOT HOT outside so I thought it would be appropriate to wear WnW Heatwave on my finger tips. Heatwave is a hot coral red that leans a bit on the orange side. I really love it. I think it reminds me a bit of OPI Cajun Shrimp...maybe a dupe? I'll have to do a comparison. The formula on this one was ok. It was opaque in 2 coats and it dried relatively fast. Can I say I'm kind of glad the heat is about to break to cooler, less humid temps. The high humidity is condusive to bad hair days=frizz-a-rama for me. Well, on to some pics.

2 coats of Heatwave, 1 coat LA Colors TC & 1 coat of Seche Vite

I now have nubbins!

Happy 5th of July

Yes, I did say 5th. I missed yesterdays festivites as a result of being at work yesterday and even though I got off at 3:30, I eneded going to a cook out at the hubbies grandparents house, so I never made it home to post my fabulous 4th of july mani. Too bad, I'm at work now and blogger wont let me post any pics due to not having google chrome here. Bummer! Hopefully, I will be able to post some tonight...better late than never. Hope everyone in the U.S  had a happy and safe holiday.

A Nice Relaxing Bubble Bath

It's Tuesday and I finally have a day off after 7 days straight...much needed. So today I am showing OPI Bubble Bath because there's nothing more relaxing than a nice hot bubble bath after a long hard day at work. Here goes...I absolutely love how this color looks...very pale pink but not quite close to white. I did have to use 4 coats to even it out but it was so worth it. I could probably have gotten it even in 3 coats if I was more careful. I used one coat of OPI Top Coat then one coat of Seche Vite. Enjoy the view...

Do you love it?

OPI Turquoise Shatter

Happy Sunday everyone. I can't say I'm too upset about tomorrow being Monday since I worked all weekend anyways. Anyone else have to work this gorgeous weekend? I really don't mind but I do miss spending time with my little princess. She is a going to be 2 in October and already loves nail polish. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

Today I have OPI Turquoise Shatter over Sinful Colors Lets Meet. This was the easiest crackle nail polish I had applied yet. I'm learning to love shatter mani's since I didn't really like them at first. I wore this mani for about 3 days and had a little tip wear but no chips or damage other than that.
