China Glaze Awaken

Hello readers. TGIF!!!!!!! I just worked 8 days straight and am so relieved to finally have a day off tomorrow. So of course with that said, we are getting rain all weekend. Gotta love New England -_-
So for grey skies, I have grey nails...or are they more like pewter? This is China Glaze Awaken.

Awaken is a gunmetal grey metallic polish that is a dream. This polish is so opaque you can get away with one coat. I used two because I am a two coat kind of girl. The formula was pure awesomeness! It pretty much stayed put...no issues here. China Glaze did a great job with this one. I'm pretty sure it would be great for stamping.

Not quite jelly sandwich

Hola! How was everyone's weekend. I worked. Not much else to say about that. I did a mani that I never got pics on as well, BOOOOOOO! Don't know what I was thinking. Maybe my brain is tired since I feel like I always need a nap. I also watched Boardwalk Empire on HBO last night. I loooove that show, does anyone else watch it? I'm not too happy about Nucky's little "thing" with Lil Miss Hoochie Momma in NY. Ugh, what a skank! OKAY! I'm done with my little rant :)
Today I have to show you a mani I did last week. It's a Not Quite a Jelly Sandwich.

I used 2 coats of Spoiled Pearly White Teeth, 1 coat of Icing Love It and 1 more coat of Pearly White Teeth and topped it off with a coat of top coat. I don't remember which one. I do like the overall look of it. What do you think? Pearly White Teeth is a sheer white with a pearly finish and Love It is a mix of pink, blue, gold & purple glitter in a clear base. Does it remind you of one of those balloons they have with the confetti inside?

Oopsie Daisies Tyranny

Hi guys. Sorry I missed posting yesterday. We had a death in the family so we were at the funeral and hanging with the family afterwards.
On a brighter note, I got to wear Tyranny from Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish. I think I have found my all time favorite polish. Its multisized red glitter in a black jelly base. This polish is absolutely gorgeous.  The red glitter glows from the black base like embers in coal. I used 3 coats. The first was sheer and streaky but it got better and better with each coat. I topped it off with a thick coat of Seche Vite and it was smooth as glass.

Oh! I used the Elmers glue base coat to see how it works. I washed my hands, took a shower, did dishes and my mani held strong. I was curious to see how easily it would peel off so I started picking at it. Once I got a piece lifted it was easy peasy peeling for me. I am ecstatic over this!

Oopsie Daisies With A Cherry On Top

I finally got my first indie polish. I was so excited to see this package in the mail last night. I ordered With A Cherry On Top and Tyranny from Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish on Etsy. I must say I got this super fast!!! I ordered this on Thursday afternoon and it was here on Monday. AMAZING! On to some pics!

With A Cherry On Top is a sheer red jelly base with a mixture of red hex glitter as well as red micro glitter. The glitter spread nice and evenly with each coat, I used 3. The formula wasn't thick or goopy as some people experience with indie glitter polishes. Great job on this one, Cathryn. I am absolutely in love with it. I can't wait to try Tyranny. You can get more info on Oopsie Daisies Nail Polish on Cathryn's blog hot.pink.aurora

Orly Dark Shadows Collection

Early this year Orly came out with a collection inspired by a movie released called Dark Shadows. The movie was a remake from the Dark Shadows TV show. Dark Shadows was an American gothic soap opera that originally aired weekdays on the ABC  from June 27, 1966, to April 2, 1971. Even though This polish collection was released in the spring, I thought it was more color appropriate for the fall.

Decades of Dysfunction

Decades of Dysfunction is very pale flesh toned creme with a slight hint of pink. It's the color of the undead. Formula was great. I used 3 coats.

Grave Mistake

Grave Mistake is a blood red creme. Again, it had an awesome formula. I used 3 coats.

Buried Alive

Buried Alive is a warm chocolate brown with a gold fleck finish. I absolutley love this one. Wonderful formula. I used 3 coats.

Mysterious Curse

Mysterious Curse is beautiful duochrome that shifts from a navy blue to royal purple. It's shift was amazing. I wish I could have captured it in its true form. I used 2 coats on this one.

Overall, I think this collection was a win for me considering I got it for almost nothing at Sally's.
Be sure to enter my GIVEAWAY if you haven't done so.

WnW Sage In The City

Hi!!! Happy Thursday everyone. Today I have Wet & Wild Fast Dry Sage In The City. It's a sage green that reminds me of the color of new grass...or like the color of a lime. It has a metallic finish and wasn't too brushstrokey (yes, I make my own words...lol)  First let me say that these polishes don't dry any faster than regular polish. Why it says Fast Dry is beyond me. The formula was pretty good. It glided on my nail with no problems. I thought it might have drag issues since it didn't dry too fast but I didn't. I used 2 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

Later on I added OPI Save Me to my ring and thumb nails.

NOTD: Pure Ice Oh Baby!

For today's manicure (that I did last night) is of Pure Ice Oh Baby! Its a duochromatic microglitter topcoat. I used it over Finger Paints Tough Art To Follow which is a deep forest green. Tough Art To Follow was a bit thick and streaky so my mani took forever to dry even with a coat of Seche Vite. The sun was in and out today but everytime I went to take pics it hid behind the clouds. Oh Baby really is a gorgeous topcoat. It flashes teal, blue and purple. As hard as I tried I just capture the purple in my pics. I didn't get to take my pictures until I got out of work today. As you can see below, I have some considerable tipwear.

OPI Berlin There Done That

Hello my wonderful people. Our last stop on the Germany tour in Berlin There Done That. BTDT is a light grey with some brownish tint to it. Almost a taupe. Lovely as it is, I have already worn it twice and have gotten many complements. The formula on it was very nice. For a creme it leveled very nicely. I used three coats for extra depth. It dried very shiny.

I decided not to buy Schnapps Out Of It. I just could not get myself to like the terra cotta shade of coral. I kept picking it up and was bleh about it.
GIVEAWAY COMING SOON ;)

OPI Unfor-greta-bly Blue

Hello! I'm sorry I'm posting so late today. I was at my mom's house today cooking and baking. I also took yesterday off so I could volunteer at a Ride For The Cure. I lost a close friend to cancer last year so it means alot for me to be able to contribute to the cause in some way.
On another note,  my hand is doing better though it is sore. Considering my nails were bruised, I decided to paint my nails with Unfor-greta-bly Blue. It's a very opaque, metallic blue. With a little care, it could have easily been a one coater. I used two. I also had no issue with brush strokes. I really liked everything about this polish.

Only 2 followers until I hit 15! Once I get there, my GIVEAWAY will go up!

OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest

Ok so this post is going to be short since I'm having a really crappy day and to top it off I slammed my right hand in the sliding glass door so it hurts to type >.<
Today I have on Every Month Is Oktoberfest. It's a blackened purple shimmer similiar to German-icure by OPI. Its very gorgeous & vampy. It had a nice formula and dried very fast. I used two coats for opacity. Enjoy. I'm off to nurse my hand.

OPI Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!

Hello all. How is your week going? I'm sure glad tomorrow is Friday. I feel just exhausted this week. Maybe I'm coming down with something. I hope not. This Saturday I will be volunteering at The Closer To Free Bike Ride for Smilow Cancer Hospital. It's pretty fun.

Today from the Germany Collection I have Nein! Nein! Nein! OK Fine!...phew. What a mouthful. I don't  know how they even fit these names of the labels. NNNOF is a dark grey creme that leans on the green side. It had a great formula, I used 2 coats for opacity.

All the pics were taken on a cloudy day :(
I had trouble capturing the green in this polish.
